San Luis Obispo Daily Telegram, San Luis Obispo, California, Wednesday, April 21, 1948, Page 6: Brisco Funeral Rites Thursday. Funeral services for Verne C. Brisco, well known business man of San Luis Obispo who died yesterday, will be held at 2 p.m. tomorrow in the R. F. Richardson chapel. Christian Science services will be read. Cremation will follow services with the remains placed in the Lawn Memorial columbarium. Mr. Brisco, a resident of this city for the past 25 years, died following a prolonged illness. He was a veteran of World War I, member of the San Luis Obispo American Legion Post No. 66 and the BPO Elks lodge No. 322 of this city. Mr. Brisco was a native of Iowa and upon arriving in San Luis Obispo, founded the Brisco Florist and Nursery which he sold three years ago. He immediately engaged in another business, buying the Reed Hardware company.
