Jeanette Harriet Kirkpatrick was born 26 January 1926 in Prichard, Mobile County, Alabama. On 3 June 1945 she married Milton Leon Rowell, son of John and Laura Virginia (Boswell) Rowell, in Mobile, Mobile County, Alabama. He was born 7 July 1922 in Theodore, Mobile County, Alabama. During World War II, Milton was a fighter pilot in the South Pacific.

There were two (2) children born of the marriage.

She was predeceased by her father Dewey Kirkpatrick, her mother Bessie Ott Kirkpatrick, her husband Milton Rowell Sr. and her sister Doris K. Lawshe Still. She is survived by Barbara Rowell, Milton (Julie) Rowell, Jr., beloved niece Patricia Lawshe, nephew Clifton Lawshe, five grandchildren, one great-grandson, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Her passions were genealogy, gardening and Alabama football. Graveside services will be held Wednesday May 15, 2013, at 3:00 p.m. at Pine Crest Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Salvation Army or to a charity of your choice
