Mobile Register, Mobile, Alabama, July 14, 2001: Milton Leon Rowell Sr., a veteran of World War II, died Wednesday at a local hospital. He was 79. The Mobile County resident was a native of Theodore. As a member of the 41st Fighter Squadron, he flew more than 100 missions as a fighter pilot of a P-47 in the South Pacific during the war. Survivors include his wife, Jeanette Kirkpatrick Rowell; a daughter, Barbara V. Rowell; a son, Milton L. Rowell Jr.; two sisters, Laura V. Boggs of Sanford, Fla., and Louise M. Webb of Athens, Ga.; and five grandchildren. Visitation will be at Pine Crest Funeral Home on Dauphin Island Parkway on Monday from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. service. Burial will be in Pine Crest Cemetery.
