Doris Mildred Kirkpatrick was born 31 August 1924 in Prichard, Mobile County, Alabama. She married 23 April 1942 in Mobile, Mobile County, Alabama to Earl C. Lawshe, Jr. son of Earl C. and Helen (Kercher) Lawshe, who was born 11 December 1916 in Whistler, Mobile County, Alabama, and died 16 January 1992 in Daphne, Baldwin County, Alabama.
There were two (2) children born of the marriage.

She was a long time resident of Mobile, Alabama and passed away on July 29, 2011. Doris was preceded in death by her parents, Dewey and Bessie Ott Kirkpatrick and her husband of fifty years, Clifton Lawshe Jr. Surviving relatives include: Doris' husband Robert Douglas Still; two children: son Earl C. Lawshe III (Kay) and daughter Patricia Ann Lawshe; three step-children: David Still (Charlotte), Ronald Still, and June Huff (David); one sister Jeanette K. Rowell; two grandsons: William Lee Lawshe (Sheila) and Richard Earl Lawshe (Darnelle); two great-grandchildren: Nathaniel Lee Lawshe and Justin Kirkpatrick Lawshe; one niece Barbara Rowell and one nephew Milton Rowell (Julie); great nieces and nephews: Joanna Rowell, Emily Rowell, Emily Sawyer, Michael Sawyer, and Jack Sawyer as well as numerous other nieces and nephews. Doris was a long time member of Dauphin Way United Methodist Church where she served as Food Director for ten years. She loved to travel and served as Director of senior trips at Dauphin Way. She was giving and selfless for family and friends. Doris loved her home, church, family, and friends. She had an outgoing personality and was a "people" person, always putting others first. In 2001, she met and became acquainted with her husband Bob Still. Bob was a driver for "meals on wheels." They were married on August 30, 2011[ error]. Funeral services will be held from Dauphin Way United Methodist Church on Monday, August 1, 2011, at 11 a.m. The family will receive friends at the church in McGowin Hall from 9:30 a.m. until the service hour. Interment will be in Pine Crest Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Dauphin Way United Methodist Church Meals on Wheels Program, 1507 Dauphin St., Mobile, AL 36604, or Odyssey Hospice, 2800 Dauphin St., Mobile, AL 36606.
