Henry WOLF
(16 Jul 1814 - 23 Feb 1862)
According to the bio for Israel B. Wolfe in the 1884 Portrait and Biographical Album of Gratiot County, Michigan, Henry Wolf moved to Portage County, Ohio in 1843 and settled in the vicinity of Ravenna. They went 16 months later to Lucas County, Ohio where they lived until 1850. They then came to Monroe County, Michigan and lived five years on a farm in Whiteford Township.
The obituary for Mrs. Susan Wolfe in the Alma Record on 12 August 1898 and a correction on 19 August 1898 states that they moved to Ohio in 1845; from there they moved to Monroe County five years later where she and her husband lived for six years, moving then to Gratiot County. The correction states that she and her husband moved on to a farm near Alma in 1856.
Henry and Susannah Wolf's son Solomon was born in Clarion County, Pennsylvania in 1836. Their next two children, Israel B. and Mary Elizabeth, were born in Jefferson County, Pennsylvania, in 1839 and 1841. They were living in Pine Creek Township, Jefferson County, Pennsylvania in 1840. Their daughter Sarah F. was born in Ravenna, Portage County, Ohio in 1845. Their daughter Susannah M. was born in Ohio in 1848, probably in Lucas County. Their son John C. was born in Lucas County, Ohio in 1849. They were living in Washington Township, Lucas County, Ohio in 1850. Their son Noah was born in Monroe County, Michigan in 1854. Henry Wolf purchased 40 ares of land in Arcada Township, Gratiot County, Michigan in 1857.
According to Susannah's death certificate, she was the mother of fourteen children with five living. If this is correct, Henry and Susannah had seven children that died young whose names are unknown.
