John WOLF

Jefferson County Pennsylvania by McKnight (1917) on page 506 states "A German settlement was made in the early forties near what is now Knox Dale by the Baileys, Wolfs and Rhodeses. To procure ready money these persons marketed in Brookville large quantities of chestnuts, berries, and other wild fruits."
Dorothy Mauk, a great granddaughter of John Wolf, said John and Christina Wolf came from Armstrong County on a raft down Redbank Creek and Sandy Lick and landed at "Wolf Landing" on Fuller Run (near Fuller). Wolf Landing does not appear on any map.

A. L. Gordon was appointed as administrator of the estate of John Wolf who died intestate without a will about 1859. He filed the first and final account with the Jefferson County Court on 10 July 1862. Copies of vouchers for money paid to Christina Wolf by A. L. Gordon, administrator of John Wolf Sr., deceased were included in the estate papers. The vouchers were witnessed by Daniel Wolf. She received the following payments:21 January 1860-$25
