Notes
Birth
Find a grave includes a picture of his tombstone but the inscription is difficult to read. There is a death record at the Jefferson County Courthouse that gives his date of death as 4 April 1897 and his age as 78 years. Patricia Steele in Tombstone Hoppin' gives his age at death as 78 years, 4 months, and 8 days. This is used to calculate his birthdate since no other source is available to do so.His son Henry's death certificate gives Clarion County, Pennsylvania as his father Jacob's place of birth but this is probably incorrect since Jacob's father, John Wolf, still owned land in Schuylkill County in 1818 and is there in the 1820 census.
Property
This deed and the other two deeds dated 20 October 1899 give the names of Jacob Wolf's heirs and their spouses: John H. Wolf; Henry Wolf and Margaret Ann his wife; Levi Wolf and Mary his wife; Isaac Wolf, and Samuel Wolf. Jacob Wolf's heirs sold his property to three of his sons (Samuel, Henry, and John).Endnotes
