Susannah BIGLEY

There was a John Swarts with his children living next to Henry and Susannah Wolf in the 1860 census. The 1869 deed gives Susannah's name as Susannah Swartz but she appears as Susannah Wolf in the 1870 and 1880 censuses. No further record for John Swarts or a variation of Swartz could be found in the 1870 or 1880 censuses for Gratiot County, Michigan but a John Swartz appears in Lucas County, Ohio in the 1870 census with sons Christopher and Andrew, two of his three sons names in the 1860 census. Susannah Swarts was a witness to the marriage of Edwin Hoyt and her daughter, Susannah Wolf, on 22 February 1867 at Arcada, Gratiot County, Michigan. John Swartz witnessed the deed when Henry Wolf purchased land in 1857 and his son Israel B. worked for a man named Swartz in 1855. John Swarts sold 40 acres to Israel B. Wolfe on 21 October 1862 for $250.
