'''Death:''' 1717 in Surry County, Virginia
The actual date of death is unknown but it had to have been between 6 Sep 1715 when he wrote his will and 19 Feb 1717 when the will was probated. Back then, months were not in the same order as our modern calendar and February followed all other months except for part of March, Therefore, it's most likely that Robert died sometime within 1717.

==Research Notes==
Thomas Figuries, son of Bartholomew, Surry County VA Deeds 1684-1733; Court Papers. William Lindsay Hopkins 1991, p 59. He is Robert's stepson.
There is good evidence that Robert's first wife was Katherine but absolutely no evidence that her maiden surname was Nannau. By all available evidence, it appears that Robert always lived in Surry County, Virginia but no evidence can be found for a Nannau family in Surry. There really was a Catherine Nannau and she had a son (not a husband) named Robert Owen (but not this Robert Owen). See [[Nannau-1|Catherine (Nannau) Vaughan (1594-1662)]]
