: There are no original source record to tell us when Katherine was born but we can deduce from the records that she was born between 1667 and 10 Jun 1668, Her parents [[Owen-3244|"Bartholomew Owen"]] and [[Jennings-2273|"Joanna Jennings"]] were married about 1666, when Joanna was about 14 to 16. Therefore, Katherine was--almost certainly--born after 1666. On 10 Jun 1684, Katherine's husband [[Proctor-78|"Joshua Proctor"]] appeared on a tithe list (living in the Owen household) Virginia Genealogical Society, Quarterly, Vol. 23, Number 1, page 45, online at Ancestry.com; Surry County, Virginia, Wills. Deeds, etc. 1684-1687, p. 6B. Since girls, at that time, had to be at least 16 years of age to marry, we can infer that Katherine was born before 10 Jun 1668 (1684-16=1668).
Note: Source #S33 should be considered unreliable because it shows dates of birth that are contradictory (1650, 1667, and 1669) and implausible (1650 same year her mother was born). It also shows marriage dates that are contradictory (1674, 1676, and 1681) and implausible (Katherine would have been 7 years of age or less in 1674)
