WAYNESBORO, Pa. - Martha D. Reed Carbaugh, 69, of 30 Mount Vernon Terrace, died Friday, Oct. 20, 2000, at her home.
Born Nov. 2, 1930, in Mont Alto, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Melvin Simmon and Dorcas Victoria Nunemaker Reed.
She attended Mont Alto Schools.
She was a press operator for Stanley Co. in Chambersburg, Pa., for 44 years, retiring in 1990.
She was a member of Five Forks Brethren in Christ Church in Five Forks, Pa., and a former member of Wayside Baptist Church in Hagerstown.
She was a member of South Chapter AARP 2977 of Waynesboro and National AARP.
She is survived by her husband of more than 50 years, Preston E. Carbaugh; a daughter, Sherry Bonn of Roanoke, Va.; a son, Marvin Carbaugh of Waynesboro; four sisters, Charlotte Mong of Smithsburg, and Gladys Staley, Pauline Ford and Irene Kendall, all of Waynesboro; a brother, Levi Reed of Shippensburg, Pa.; two grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Susan Mong; two brothers, Ken Reed and Ed Reed; and a granddaughter.
Services will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St. in Waynesboro. The Rev. Odell Stone and Pastor Ray Kipe will officiate. Burial will be in Parklawn Memorial Gardens in Chambersburg.
The family will receive friends Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
The family requests the omission of flowers.
