Served as a private in the Union Army in the Civil War. Enlisted on October 3, 1861 in Company B, Phelp's Regiment, under Captain Joseph Rich, Volunteer Missouri Infantry and was killed in the Battle of Pea Ridge, Arkansas on March 7, 1862. Buried on Pea Ridge Battlefield and later moved to the National Cemetery at Fayette, Arkansas (Grave 211, Section 4)
Captain Pare's Company (F), Dallas County Regiment, Missouri Home Guard. "Appears on record of the allowances made by the Hawkins Taylor Commission". Served at Buffalo, 6/24/1861 to 9/24/1861. Private, Captain Phelp's Regiment Missouri Infanty. Mustered in at Rolla, Missouri, 10/3/1861 for 6 months. Age 40. Killed in action at Pea Ridge on 3/7/1862 "vide Mo R". Buried at the National Cemetery at Fayetteville, Washington County, Arkansas, grave #211.
