Benjamin Francis WINGO

Benjamin Wingo, private to corporal, Company A, 12'th Missouri Cavalry. Mustered in at Benton Barracks, Ironton, Missouri, 3/17/1864. Age 30 years and 4 moths, 5' 8" tall, fair complexion, blue eyes, light hair, and a farmer by occupation.
Served in Missouri and Kansas. Promoted to Corporal 8/1/1864. Mustered out 4/9/1866 at Ft. Levenworth, Kansas. He was 5'9", light complexion, blue eyes, brown hair, farmer.
See National Archives for pension record. Pension file number XC2,702,619. Service papers in National Archives gives place of birth as Giles County, Tennessee. His regiment went on Powder River Expedition in summer of 1865 against Red Cloud (Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee).
Around 1868 he returned to a farm in Greene County, Missouri.
