Thomas WINGO

Thomas Wingo III was a son of Thomas Wingo, Jr. and Sarah Unknown. His grandparents were Thomas Wingo, Sr. and Jane Unknown. His great grandfather was the John Wingo that died in Amelia County, Virginia in 1755.

Served as a private in the Revolutionary War against Great Britain. Enlisted in Amelia County, Virginia between 1776-1783 and served in the 1'st Continental Line, Infantry. No bounty warrant number or pension.

On September 11, 1800 Shadrack Holt recorded a deed in Nottoway County, Virginia for 53 acres. His daughter Mary Holt and son-in-law Thomas Wingo received the land.

Will was written 27 Jan 1824 and probated 27 May 1828, Sons should be educated from estate. Lands to be divided between two sons at death of his wife. His 7 slaves and stocks of all kinds and household goods divided between three children at death of his wife.
