Individual Details
David MASSICKS
(29 May 1805 - Jun 1893)
The only link I have found to Scotland is that David Massicks (born 1805) married Mary Foster, who was born in Annan, Dumfriesshire. (Geoff Lowe)
Roy says: We do know for certain that DAVID MASSICKS b 1805 at Church House, Torver while a young Tanner by trade, hopped across the border and took up with MARY FOSTER. He lived with her for a considerable time without marrying. He fathered JAMES - there is no record of whether JAMES ever came to England. He was farmed out to Scottish relatives. When JAMES went back to England to become the master Tanner at Broughton in the Lake District MARY FOSTER also came and they married and had a number of English children.
JAMES became the head of the only Scottish MC MASSICKS we know of and we have searched high and low for them. The last MASSICKS in Scotland appears to be a CELIA MASSICKS. When she goes so will the lineage in Scotland.
