POPULAR COUPLE WAS MARRIEDMildred McLain and Robert Breckenridge Were United in Marriage Tuesday
Ceremony Took Place at the Country Home of Mr. and Mrs. W. J. McLain
At the home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs.W. J. McLain, Sept. 6, at six o'clock occurred the happy marriage of Miss Mildred McLain and Robert Breckenridge, son of Mr. and Mrs. R. J. Breckenridge.
The charming ceremony began with the playing of Mendelssohn's Wedding March by Arthur Brandenburg, a college classmate of the bride. Miss Margery McLain and Walter Breckenridge, the attending couple, let the procession, followed by the wedding couple. The service itself took place in a beautiful setting of autumn flowers, with Rev. J. W. Pool officiating and immediate relatives witnessing the joyous event.
After the ceremony, a delightful three-course dinner, planned on pink and white color scheme, was served by Misses Madeline Bowers, Mildred Ramsey and Mrs. Josie Crider.
Both bride and groom have lived among Brooklyn friends all their lives and graduated together from the Brooklyn High School in the class of '16. The former continued her education at Grinnell College, from which institution she holds her degree, while the latter took up an engineering course at Ames and at present is in the hardware business with his father here in Brooklyn.
In addition the united couple have all the accomplishments necessary toward making a happy home and their host of friends join in wishing them success and rejoice to have them reside in this city.
Mr. and Mrs. Breckenridge left on the east bound train for a week's trip.

Obituary
Rites Held for Mrs. BreckenridgeFuneral services were onducted at Collegiate Presbyterian church, Ames, Saturday morning for Mrs. Mildred E. Breckenridge, 69, former Brooklyn resident.
Mrs. Breckenridge, sister of Maynard McLain, Brooklyn, died Wednesday evening at an Ames hospital. She had been ill several months.
Rev. John Davies had charge of the services and burial was in the I. O. O. F. cemetery at Brooklyn Saturday afternoon.
A graduate of Grinnell college, Mrs. Breckenridge taught in the Hartley high school before her marriage in 1921 to Robert William Breckenridge of Brooklyn. Tehy moved to Ames in 1929.
She was an active member of the Collegiate Presbyterian church, serving as circle chairman, deaconess and Sunday School teacher. She was also a member of PEO, DAR, Faculty Women's club and the Ames Garden club.
Survivors include one son, Dr. Bruce M Breckenridge of Princeton, N. J.; three daughters, Mrs. D. B. Turkington of Norman, Okla, Mrs. C. A. Blackburn of Baltimore, Md.; Mrs. C. E. Gates of College Station, Texas; two brothers, Marvin L McLain of Alexandria, Va. and Mr. McLain of Brooklyn; on sister, Mrs. Wilbur M. Molison of Grinnell.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, Minnie L. Brenniman and William James McLain and one sister, Mrs. Margery Jackson.
