Marks 50th Anniversary

MATCHEDASH - A host of relatives and friends gathered at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John Fell, July 11 on the occasion of their golden wedding anniversary.

The Yorshire born couple was married in the St. Matthias' Anglican Church 50 years ago by Rev. J. Sheppard.

Mr. Fell recalled how he had rented a phaeton and tema to drive to his wedding for there no cars on the roads then. He came from Yrokshire to Canada in 1902, when he was 26. He is now 80.

After working on a farm for a few years, he settled on a neighboring farm, which is not occupied by his son.

The former Lavinia Oliver, Mrs. Fell came from Yorkshire to Canada with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Oliver when she was foru yrars old. They settled in Matchedash Township.

The Fells have three daughters: Mrs. Lovering, Mrs. Ashmore and Mrs. Bolya, two sons, George and Harry, three gransons and two granddaughter.

Mrs. Fell also has three sister: Mrs. Ed Brandon, Mrs. Joe Oakley and Mrs Jim Oakley and two brothers, Ernest and Stanley still living.
