"Thomas Washington Cantrell was born about 1858 at Cantrell Cross Roads, McMinn County, Tennessee. He was enumerated on the U. S. census of McMinn County, Tennessee in 1860. Julia Sullivan, a niece by marriage, stated that Thomas Washington visited his sister, Mary Texanna Cantrell Sullivan, in Wright County, Missouri in about 1910. Julia seemed to think that Thomas Washington lived in Arkansas, and he drove a team of mules to visit his sister. She did not know if he had a wife or children."
