"Darby H. Cantrell died at his father's old homestead (where his son James M. is now living) in Sumner County, Tennessee, March 2, 1883. He married Almira Gillespie, a sister of his brother William Cantrell's wife. His qualities partook much after the order of his brother William. He was a planter."
