"Joseph Pealin Cantell was born October 16, 1848 in McMinn County, Tennessee. He moved with his mother and her children from Tennessee to Dade County, Missouri in 1853, and the family removed to Webster County, Missouri in 1855 and settled on a small creek in High Prairie Township, known later as Cantrell Creek."
