"On August 25, 1905, James Messley was pushed or accidently fell from a room in an apartment building in Kansas City, Missouri and died instantly. A number of young men occupied rooms on the upper floor of the building. After work, they often engaged in "horse play" by scuffling and chasing each other from room to room.
