"Martha (Mary) Jane Williamson McMullan, is buried at Mt. Nebo hwy 19 South of House, Mississippi. Her headstone is ground level (flat). She is the daughter of Joseph Absalum Williamson and Thirsa Ann Martin and grand-daughter of Charles Williamson, she was born in Lexington Co. SC. at the Williamson home place located at Cedar Creek and North Fork Edisto River. At age 15/16 abt 1850, she met and married 1st Willis Sinclair McMullan, a son of James McMullan and ? Hogg, His father James was the son of Patrick McMullan, Sr. This marriage is believed to have taken place in Arkansas, as Albert Dardenell Williamson the youngest son of Joseph Absalum Williamson and Thirsa Ann Martin, was born in Arkansas at about this time frame. after the death of her 1st husband Willis Sinclair McMullan, Martha (Margaret, Mary) JANE McMullan, married William R. THAMES, she is listed in 1910 Newton Co. Ms. census report in house with son William R. (Billy) Thames, son Leroy, lived next door. she is listed as mother of head of household and also the mother of seven children with six living at that time, I do not know name of seventh child, she died at the home of her son Thomas Alferd McMullan, on August 3, 1922 Duffee, Ms. death certificate # 19116 state of Mississippi. information on death certificate given by T.A. McMullan, Her sister Harriet Caroline Williamson Drew, spouse of Oliver Drew died one day before her, August 2, 1922. Death Certificate # 19115. I have found Jane listed as Jane, Margaret, Martha, and Mary, on various research documents, and the headstone reads, "Mary Jane McMullan". (Bobby Crocker.)
