Hope Elliott Kemper

"Hope K. Hoover, 89, died Saturday in a local nursing home. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Cedar Gap Cemetery with the Rev. Rodney F. Quainton officiating, directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory. Mrs. Hoover was born in Cedar Gap and moved to Abilene at an early age. She was the widow of A. J. Hoover, Sr., whom she married in 1921 in Sweetwater. Survivors include one son, A. J. Hoover, Jr. of Abilene; one sister, Mrs. C. L. Langford of Abilene; three grandchildren; and one great grandchild. Memorials may be sent to Altrusa International Inc. of Abilene Memorial Fund, 3010 Woodway Circle, Abilene 79606; or a favorite charity. Visitation will be from 3 - 5 p.m. today in the funeral home."
