"Asel Greer was the son of either Edmond Greer or William F. Greer. ... Mrs. Maxwell, Mrs. Hailey, and Mrs. Hackett, said that as children they had visited Asel Greer in Leon County and the latter two said they had called him "Uncle Asel. If Mrs. Hailey and Mrs. Hackett's "Uncle Asel" really was their uncle, then he must have been a brother of their father Ben and a son of Edmond. If that is the case, then Ed Greer and his children of Normangee are descended from Edmond Greer through his son Asel and not his son William F. as stated above."
