Henderson Dillon
(January 3, 1813 - October 7, 1882)
According to the Minister Records of John Keaton Henderson Dillon and Falishia Crawford were married September 27, 1835, but other records give the date as September 19, 1835.
"Henderson Dillon married (1) Falishia Crawford, and (2) Susanna Fisher." (PIONEER FAMILIES OF FRANKLIN COUNTY VIRGINIA, by Marshall Wingfield, Reprinted for Clearfield Company, Inc. by Genealogical Publishing Company, Inc., 1996)" (Bea O'Quin, 1997.)
The marriage of Henderson Dillon and Felicia Crawford is recorded in Monroe County, Virginia Marriage Book F5 Page J3508, 1835. Per records of John Keaton, minister, they were married Sep 27.
In the 1840 Monroe County Census, Henderson was listed with the a boy and a girl, both under 5. Both he and his wife were listed as 20-29. There was an additional male aged 20-29 in the home. Two of the adults were employed in agriculture, and two could not read and write. Presumed neighbors were Jeremiah Bush? and Sinclair Meadows.
1850 Monroe County, Virginia census. In the 1850 Monroe County 39 1/2 District Census, taken July 26, the family was listed as Henderson age 34, Falishia 38, Thomas 3, Mary 2, and Elizabeth J. Dillion, age 31. Apparently they lost the children listed in 1840. I'm not sure where Elizabeth came from. Elizabeth was the only adult who could read and write. Henderson's occupation was not stated, assumed to be a farmer, although no dittos are visible. Presumed neighbors were Andrew and Polly Broyles, and Christopher and Elizabeth Calanay?. Andrew was a farmer and a Christopher was a laborer.
The marriage of Henderson Dillon and Susanna Fisher is recorded in Monroe County, Virginia Marriage Book W9, Page 6.
Henderson and Susanna have an unnamed child listed in the Monroe County Birth index on 3 Jun 1856, The 1860 census did not reflect a child of this age, presumably this child died.
1860 Monroe County, Virginia census.
Henderson Dillon was not located in the 1880 Virginia and West Virginia census indexes, but he was supposedly still alive.
