Individual Details
Asa "Asabel" "Seth" Greer
(July 15, 1801 - September 29, 1854)
The marriage of Asa "Seth" Greer and Lavina Napier is recorded in Davidson County, Tennessee Marriage Book 1, pag 271.
1850 White County, Illinois census.
(NOTE FROM RALPH TERRY: Information about the family of Asa "Asabel" (sometimes called Seth) Greer was furnished by Muriel Smith, 328 S. Maple Street, Mt. Prospect, Illinois 60056, and was given in ROYAL HERITAGE OF THE GREERS, 1993, by Carolyn Beal, page 186. One generation was left out in the reportage by Mrs. Beal, as this Asa Greer was a grandson of Aquilla Greer, Jr., not Aquilla Greer, Sr. Birth and death dates of Asa "Seth" Greer are from his tombstone. The records of L. L. McNees as given in GREER KINSMEN by J. B. Bell does not show the name of "Asa," only "Seth," as do Muriel Smith's records. I am not sure if the information shown in Carolyn Beal's book about the descendants of Asa "Asabel" (sometimes called Seth) was from the research of Muriel Smith or Carolyn Beal. A check of the national telephone directory does not show the name of Muriel or her husband in Illinois, but who I assume to be her two brothers are listed.)
