"GREER .... unknown, but suspect Abraham. Son known to have been born in Gallaten County, Illinois, 1830. However, family names appear in White County, Illinois. Known facts: Abraham Greer married Peggy KINNEY in Williamson County, Tennessee in 1825. Family History states family in Illinois, moved to Tenn in 1834. Research proves family first in Tennessee. Francis Marion GREER is listed in the house of Margaret GREER in Morehouse Parish, Louisiana in the 1850 census along with brother, William M. (Marshall) GREER, who is shown to be born about 1826 in Tennessee. Possible that father of family, the Abraham listed, died in Illinois? Peggy/Margaret return to Tennessee to be with her family? Need Probate records for White County, Illinois time period 1832 or so, or, I get lucky, a will?
