"Gilbert Dunlap Greer, son of John David Greer and Sarah Hunt. Please Note: This man is not the same man as listed as a son of Nathaniel Hunt Greer, and a nephew of this Gilbert Dunlap Greer. He was born October 29, 1792 in Hancock County, Georgia; died March 23, 1852 in Cowetta County, Georgia. He married December 22, 1829 Martha Moore (sic). No issue no further data found. He married second Mrs. Sarah Ann Lewis Wellborn, who died in 1865. Gilbert Dunlap Greer served as Captain of Militia in Jasper County in 1814, and as Captain of Cavalry in Coweta County, Georgia in 1836."
