"Per a granddaughter, Gladys (Sawyer) Lewis, William was a 32nd Degree Mason and attended rites at Oswalt Community Center. Gladys also states she spent a lot of time at the Dunn home and was there the day William died; they ate dinner as usual with William saying grace and everyone had to sit quietly and proper. After the meal, William got up and walked into the livingroom, sat down in his chair, and went to sleep as was his custom, but never woke up.

"Marriage records Comanche, Texas, Vol. A pg 119 or 149. The unnamed children are placed in the largest gaps and based on the census reports. Per Lindell Randolph, the family may have been in a town called Bower in Arkansas about 1905. However, it must have been for short duration if so, because census, land, and marriage records, as well as family tradition places them in the Garvin and Love Co. areas.

"A grand daughter, Mary Ann Dunn, relates a story without identifying the people. She says that the wedding night was spent in a teepee and the teepee fell on them. This may have been Billy and Mollie or it may have been their son, James Washington Dunn, the father of Mary Ann Dunn." (Don Raymond, 2003.)
