"A. J. Howell Dies After Long Illness ... Brother of Gas City Groceryman to be buried at Duncan Cemetery. A. J. Howell, 56 years old, died here Thursday morning after a long illness. Heart trouble, kidney trouble and other complications were blamed. Funeral services will be held at 10 o'clock Friday morning at the Duncan Cemetery, conducted by the Rev. Cunningham, Baptist pastor at Empire City. Arrangements are under the direction of the Rangeley - Goodman Funeral Home.
"Howell is a brother of Zee Howell, groceryman at Gas City. Four other brothers and three children also survive. The children are: Miss Elizabeth Howell, Tulsa, Oklahoma; Lewis and Sam, both of Konowa, Oklahoma. The other brothers are A. A., Broken Bow, Oklahoma; W. S., Panhandle, Texas; S. G., Brownsville, Texas; and O. H., Petrolia, Texas. Howell made his home with his brother, W. S., for several years but went to Seminole last winter and was working in the oil field there.
