"Charles and spouse Mary had by the 1820 census of South Carolina, three sons (210010) and four daughters (31100). By 1830 census picking up 2 sons and 2 daughters. On the 1840 Newton County, Mississippi census, one additional son under age 5 and three daughters, one under age 5 and two age 5 to 10, a total of fifteen children, Joseph Absolom being the oldest." (Family record of George M. Williamson who died in 1876, from Becky Chaney and Ann Abernathie via Bobby Crocker, Mississippi. An additional note from them: "Henry and George are missing from list, both married daughters of Elijah and Elizabeth McAdams Jeffcoat in Pike County, Alabama.")

"Charles Williamson, father of Joseph Absalum Williamson, was born in N. C. abt 1783. The family re-located to Lexington County, South Carolina before 1790. Charles Williamson was in a land Company and assume with others. Charles removed by 1840 to Newton County, Mississippi, where he died about age 58 (about1842). Records show Joseph and David Williamson as administrators of the estate of their father Charles Williamson, and sold 417 acres of land in South Carolina to Mary Martin in 1846. I have been able to locate the burial site of Charles Williamson at the Old Liberty Church Cemetery, Duffie, Mississippi." (Bobby Crocker.)

(Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery, Duffee, Newton County, Mississippi, on Highway 492 out of Union, Mississippi, going east. Just before one gets to Duffee, take a right onto Liberty Road ... it deadends at cemetery.)

"The 1840 Newton County, Mississippi shows a Charles Williamson of the appropriate age to be this Charles. He owned 9 male slaves and 8 female slaves. Children of Charles and Mary Hoover Williamson were taken from Bible record, a copy received from Faye Abernathie in 1995. Charles and Mary both died in 1842 Newton County, Mississippi. according to this record. They are buried at Liberty Church Cemetery, Duffie, Newton County, Mississippi. with other Williamson relatives, according to Mrs. Russell, caretaker of Liberty Church Cemetery. Charles and Mary Hoover Williamson were parents to fifteen children listed in Bible record and counted through census records, with John Thomas being the fourteenth child and his brother Augustus J. the last child listed, Augustus is most likely the A. J. Williamson listed on 1844 Newton County, Mississippi tax roll. The oldest son Joseph Absolum and son David C. Williamson were Administrators of the estate of Charles Williamson and Mary Hoover Williamson, August 2004. I did locate Charles Williamson's and Mary Hoover's burial site. They are in unmarked graves, but I have narrowed it down to two of about 15-20 sites in the Liberty Church Cemetery in Little Rock, Mississippi." (Joyce Morgan.) (NOTE FROM RALPH TERRY: John Thomas and Augustus Williamson were not the youngest children, as shown by Bible records furnished by Bobbie Crocker.)
