"Alexander Shelton Judy, Sr. was born in 1803 in Woodford County, Kentucky. He married Susan Bradley (daughter of John Bradley of Bourbon County, Kentucky. Alexander and family moved to Clay County, Missouri in ca. 1847. He died at age of 65 years. Alexander and wife were pioneer settlers of "Westport Landing" (now Kansas City), Missouri. (For Ref. see Will Book "L," page 364, Bourbon County, Kentucky.) He and his wife are buried near Nashua, Missouri. Her death date not reported. Children by the Judy - Bradley union follow. Alexander Shelton Judy, Sr. had 15 to 20 negro slaves. He was a Democrat and a Campbellite and his wife's father came from Cork, Ireland. Susan (Bradley) Judy weighed only 100 lbs and her husband, Alexander Shelton Judy, Sr. weigh 170 lbs. and was 6' 1" tall."
