Individual Details
Paul Morrison "Pappy" Pool
(5 Aug 1934 - 10 Jun 2015)
Interment at Rosewood Cemetery in Upshur County.
Being a farm boy, Paul worked the usual farm jobs growing up. He loved to work with the horses and mules and it was a lifetime passion of his. In his younger days he rode a horse or mule but his true love was the covered wagon pulled by a team. He was a good Teamster and an equally good Muleskinner. For many years he and Sheila, his wife, roamed all over Upshur County riding in the wagon. He enjoyed going to equine field days where the old farming equipment, pulled by horses and mules were used. Over the years, he collected some of that same farming equipment.
Paul and Sheila were “fixed up” by a friend’s daughter and Sheila’s daughter, Jo Gina. First date was in April of 1982. They were married on July 28, 1984 by Jack Hoffpauier, friend, co-worker and minister.
As a young man, after a few odd and end jobs, he went to work for Upshur Rural Electric Company, working there for 43 years, finishing up his tenure at the age of 62 in the position of Construction Foreman.
After his retirement, he worked around his farm at Rosewood and kept his great granddaughter, Devin, while her mom worked. He was able to enjoy 18 years of retirement.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Paul Scott Pool, in 2005; grandson, Brady Scott Pool; twin great-grandchildren, Kayden & Helaynah Pool; sisters, Ruthie Pool, Eunie Pool Finney, Amie Pool Bivins, Rachel Pool Smith, Lessie Pool, Thelma Pool and one brother, Sidney J Pool.
