E. Van Alstyne, 78, Dies at His Home
Everett Van Alstyne, 78, of 113 Cashin Dr., Fayetteville, a native of Adams and a former vice chairman of the Republican Committee in DeWitt where he resided 33 years, died at his home yesterday. He was a retired salesman for the Oscar Mayer Packing Co., having retired in 1952 after 25 years’ service. He had also been a Civil Defense warden in the DeWitt area.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Maude Hemens Van Alstyne; two sons, Everett H. Jr. of Manlius and Lawrence W. of Fayetteville; a sister, Mrs. David Lavine of Syracuse; and two grandchildren.
Services will be at the Fairchild & Meech Funeral Home at 1 p.m. tomorrow with the Rev. H. William, rector of Trinity Episcopal Church, Fayetteville, officiating. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today.
