Gladys "May" Clines

MUNCIE--Gladys "May" Dennie, 73, passed away early Tuesday morning, Nov. 15, 2016 at her residence following an extended illness. She was born on Feb. 27 1943 in Muncie, the daughter of Jessie and Gladys (Maxwell) Clines.
May is a 1961 graduate of Muncie Central High School and later married Frederick Eugene Duke and also Clyde Melvin Dennie, both of whom preceded her in death.
Mrs. Dennie had worked for Ball Memorial Hospital in the Dietary Department, retiring in 200 after over 20 years of service. She was a member of the Avondale United Methodist Church, where she was very involved in the greeting card ministry, prayer chain, and the ministry to the shut-ins who where unable to attend services. May loved being with her family very much! She also enjoyed putting together jigsaw puzzles and doing crochet work.
Survivors include one daughter, Connie Jessee (husband-James); one son, David Duke (wife-Connie Morales-Duke); seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Linda Jones (husband-Stephen) and Anna Plyler (husband-Jonathan); and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her two husbands, Frederick and Clyde, she is preceded in death by two sons, Richard Lynn Duke and Allen Mark Duke; one great-grandson, Isaak Duke in 2003; her parents; and one brother, Benjamin Clines.
Cremation is taking place with a memorial service to be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to Avondale United Methodist Church, 1314 W. 10th St., Muncie, IN 47302.
