MILDRED WILLIAMS
Service for Mildred L. Williams, 2309 N. Canal St., are pending at Denton Funeral Home. She died today at her home.
She was born in Carlsbad on Nov. 11, 1919 in the old Eddy house. She graduated from Carlsbad High School and attended New Mexico State University in Las Cruces. She worked for many years as a semstress for David James and Collin Gerrells stores. She and Joseph Williams were married in Carlsbad on Nov. 2, 1941. She was a charter member of Emmanuel Gospel Church and helped in the construction of the church. She was also a member of the Grandmother's Club.
Survivors include her husband, J.A. Williams, Carlsbad; two daughters, Sheran Sims and Barbara Rice, both of Carlsbad; two brothers, David Arthur Spencer, Crealoe Spring, Ill., and Charles Spencer, Natchitoches, La.; two sisters, Elsie Marrero, El Rancho, Calif., rosa Lee Hutton, Marvel, Colo., three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

A funeral service is to be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Emmanuel Gospel Church for Mildred L. Williams, 70, who died Wednesday at her Carlsbad home.
Mrs. Williams, a resident of 2309 N. Canal St., was 70.
The service is to be officiated by the Rev. Lois McCarty. Burial is to follow in Carlsbad Cemetery.
Ushers for the service are to be Kelly Hicks and Kim Ingram.
Pallbearers are to be M. Lee Rice, Albert McCarty, Robert McCarty, Kendrew Cauffman, Loyd Elliott, Freddie Prewitt, Melvin McNutt, Damon McNutt.
