Services for Raymond W. Spencer, 69, 5001 Old Cavern Rd., are pending at Denton Funeral Home. He died July 14, 1986, in Socorro, N.M.
Born May 4, 1917 in Carlsbad, he was a life-long resident here. He attended Carlsbad High School, Eastern New Mexico University and New Mexico State University. He was a dirt movement contractor, retiring in 1983.
He married Lois Wheeler on May 3, 1940, in Carlsbad and was a member of the Life and Breath Club.
Survivors include: his wife, Lois Marie Spencer, Carlsbad; four sons, Raymond Arthur Spencer, Wichita Falls, Texas, David Paul Spencer, Carlsbad, George Allen Spencer, Liberty Hill, Texas, and Floyd Wayne Spencer, Albuquerque; one daughter, Raylene Marie Reed, Carlsbad; two brothers, Charles Edward Spencer, Chandler, Ariz., and David A. Spencer, Creal Springs, Ill.; three sisters, Mildred Lee Williams, Carlsbad, Elsie Ruth Marreo, Los Angeles, Calif., and Rosa Lee Hutton, Pie Town, N.M.; 13 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
SPENCER
Services for Raymond W. Spencer, 69, 5001 Old Cavern Rd., will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday in the Denton Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Will Steinsick of Hillcrest United Methodist Church will officiate.
He died July 14, 1986, at Socorro, N.M.
Pallbearers will be Ben Saiz, George Shoup, Tom Ferguson, Ralph Callaway, Don Winters and Vicente Perez.
