Age 76, of Riverdale, passed away suddenly on Saturday, April 26, 2008 at Gratiot Medical Center in Alma.
He was born July 21, 1931 in Williamston to Harold and Gladys (Hoover) Stewart. He was united in marriage to Donna Gregg on April 7, 1951 in Williamston. Stanley was a farmer who loved to garden. He ran the produce stand on M-46 by the Artisian Well for many years. He enjoyed garage sales, flea markets and collected antiques and art works. Family was very important to him. He was known for his sense of humor and his love of life.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Donna; Son, Stanley Jr. (Sheryl) of Vestaburg; daughters, Sharon (Dennis) Lelsie of Maple Rapids, Janice (Pete) Robinson of McBride, Darlene (Bill) Esch of Riverdale, Cindy Coston (Ivan Marvin) of Crystal, Tammy (John) Denniston of St. Louis, Nancy (Randy) Dewald of Carson City; 87 grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brothers, Keith (Ada) Stewart, Newt (Joanne) Stewart, Allen (Edith) Stewart; sisters, Betty (Gene) Dudzinski, Peggy (David) Ike and Beverly (Jim) Kneale and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death are his parents; son Terry and wife Shirley; grandson, Tommy Esch; brothers, Norman, Harold and Robert and sister, Naomi Gage.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 30, 2008 at 1:00 pm at the Lux and Schnepp Funeral Home in Crystal with Pastor Rolla Timmons officiating. Interment will be in Ferris Center Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 11:00 am until the time of services. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the wishes of the family.
