He was executed in Mistras during the Civil War in Greece along with 22 other people (the civil war was 1943-1950) (Ref. Kostakos-2 & 3).
Discussion between Areti Kostakos Lambrinos and Carol Petranek, August 2003 - verified that he was killed in the Greek Civil War and had one son, Grigorios, who remains in St. Johns. Carol met Grigorios and his family and his mother, Panoraia, during her visit to Greece in 1996.
Peter Papagiannakos-Pappas told Carol Petranek that Panagiotis was killed in 1947 in Mystras by the partisans, during the Greek Civil War. He left a wife and a son, Grigorios.
