Sold to Nelson Baconfor Two [?] hundred dollars for a parcel of land in Brandon, RutlandCo., VT, described as follows: Commencing at the corner of landsowned by John B. L'heurense [?] on the east lline of Union Street.Thence southerly on the line of said Street 8 rods. Thence easterly ona line parallel with said L'heurense's line 30 [?] rods. ThenceNortherly on a line parallel with said Union Street to L'hererr's Lot.Thence northerly on said Lheurense lot to a place of beginningcontaining 1/2 acres. Being same premises this day purchased of saidNelson Bacon and Emma Bacon his wife. This mortgage being given tosecure a portion of the purchase money.
To have and to hold the above granted premises, with all theprivileged an appurtenances hereof to the said Nelson Bacon his heirsand assigns, to his and thier own use, benefit and behoof forever, thesaid Chas Bacon for myself and my heirs, executors and administrators,do covenant with the said Nelson Bacon his heirs and assigns, thatuntil the ensealing of these presents I am well seized to fee of theabove granted premises, that they are free from all incumbrances, andI hereby engage to warrant and defend the same against all unlawfulclaims whatsoever. Provided nevertheless that if I the said Chas Bacon my heirs executorsor administrators shall well and truly pay or cause to be paid to thesaid Nelson Bacon his heirs and assigns the sum of Six Hundred Dollarsspecified on 12 Promissory Notes dated Jan 27, 1876 given for fifthdollars each and payable in 2-3-4-5-6-7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 & 13 yearsafter date with interest annually according to the tenor and effect ofsaid notes then this deed to be null and ____ _______ to remain infull force and virtue.

Know all men by these presents that we Charles Bacon and Mary Baconhis wife of Vergennes in the County of Addison and State of Vermontfor the consideration of one dollar received to our full satisfactionof Nelson Bacon of Brandon in the County of Rutland and State ofVermont to remire [?] release and forever quit-claim and by thesepresents have remired released and quit-claimed unto the said NelsonBacon his heirs and assigned all our right and interest in and to acertain parcel of land situate in said Brandon and described asfollows. Commencing at the corner of lands owned by John B. L'heureuxon the east side of Union Street 8 rods Thence easterly on the line oflands owned by Elias M. ________ 10 rods. Thence northerly a lineparallel with said Union Street 8 rods to said L'heureux Thencewesterly on the line of said L'heureuex to place of beginning. Beingsame ___________ conveyed to me by said Nelson Bacon by Deed datedJanuary 27, 1876 and recorded in Brandon Land Records Vol. 35 Page 90.
To have and to hold the above ______ cleared and quit-claimedfor------ with the appurtenances thereof unto him the said NelsonBacon his heirs and assigns to them and their own proper use benefitand behoof forever so that neither me the said Charles or Mary or ourheirs or assigns shall ever have any right title challenge or demnd byvirtue of any act or acts or to be had done or suffered.
