Individual Details

Abigail Emma FRENIER

(24 May 1812 - 4 Aug 1878 - 5 Aug 1878)

I am showing her name as Abigail Emma because in some U.S. records it shows Nelson's wife as Abbie or Abigail and in some, Emma. Son, Samuel's marriage to Louisa Ariel gives his mother's name as Emma Bacon. His death record as extracted from the Vermont Index shows his mother as Abie Frenier. It is possible that Abigail died and he re-married an Emma, but no marriage record has been found for a second marriage.
As of 17 April 2010, due to finding information from Carol Bacon Resnickon ancestry.com, I now know that in Quebec, her name was Amable Piette. Her name was changed when she and Narcisse"Nelson" Bacon came to the U.S. from Quebec.
Piette is a dit name for Freniere and is the name her family used in Quebec. She also changed her given names when she came to Vermont.
