Know all men by these presents that I Chester Winslow of Brandon in the County of Rutland and State of Vermont for the consideration of two hundred Dollars received to my full satisfaction of Nelson Bacon of Brandon in the County of Rutland and State of Vermont do give grant Bargain, Sell and Confirm unto the said Nelson Bacon his heirs and assigns a certain tract of land lying & being in Brandon aforesaid described as follows to wit: Beginning on the Easterly line of the highway leading from Brandon village to the Blackmer Bridge across Otter Creek a [sic] the South West Corner of land occupied by William Bacon Thence Southerly on the line of the highway eight rods Thence Easterly parallel with William Bacons South line twenty Rods. Thence Northerly parallel with the line of the highway aforesaid eight rods, thence Westerly on the South line of said Williams lot twenty rods to the bounds began at, containing one acre of land and said Bacon shall build and maintain a lawful fence around said premises so long as said Winslow or his heirs shall own land adjoining.
To have and to hold the above granted premises with all the privileges and appurtenances thereof to the said Nelson Bacon his heirs and assigns to them and their own use and behoof forever. And I the said Chester Winslow for my self and my heirs Executors and Administrator do covenant with him the said Nelson Bacon his heirs and assigns that I am lawfully seized in fee of the above granted premises that they are free from all incumbrances and Thereby engage to Warrant and Defend the same against lawful claims whatsoever. Nevertheless in order to make this deed, the said Bacon must pay to the said Winslow his heirs or assigns ninety three Dollars and thirty eight cents and the interest after the first day of April next, with one year with one year after the first day of April next.
In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 16th day of March A.D. 1865.

I hereby Certify that United States Revenue Stamps to the amount of fifty cents were affixed to the foregoing instrument duty cancelled.
Bk 35 pg 92 of Deeds, Brandon, Rutland Co., VT. Sold to Nelson Bacon for Two [?] hundred dollars for a parcel of land in Brandon, Rutland Co., VT, described as follows: Commencing at the corner of lands owned by John B. L'heurense [?] on the east line of Union Street.Thence southerly on the line of said Street 8 rods. Thence easterly on a line parallel with said L'heurense's line 30 [?] rods. Thence Northerly on a line parallel with said Union Street to L'hererr's Lot. Thence northerly on said L'heurense lot to a place of beginning containing 1/2 acres. Being same premises this day purchased of said Nelson Bacon and Emma Bacon his wife. This mortgage being given to secure a portion of the purchase money.
To have and to hold the above granted premises, with all the privileges and appurtenances hereof to the said Nelson Bacon his heirs and assigns, to his and their own use, benefit and behoof forever, the said Chas Bacon for myself and my heirs, executors and administrators,do covenant with the said Nelson Bacon his heirs and assigns, that until the ensealing of these presents I am well seized to fee of the above granted premises, that they are free from all incumbrances, and I hereby engage to warrant and defend the same against all unlawful claims whatsoever. Provided nevertheless that if I the said Chas Bacon my heirs executors or administrators shall well and truly pay or cause to be paid to the said Nelson Bacon his heirs and assigns the sum of Six Hundred Dollars specified on 12 Promissory Notes dated Jan 27, 1876 given for fifty dollars each and payable in 2-3-4-5-6-7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 & 13 years after date with interest annually according to the tenor and effect of said notes then this deed to be null and ____ _______ to remain in full force and virtue.

Know all men by these presents that we Charles Bacon and Mary Bacon his wife of Vergennes in the County of Addison and State of Vermont for the consideration of one dollar received to our full satisfaction of Nelson Bacon of Brandon in the County of Rutland and State of Vermont to remise release and forever quit-claim and by these presents have remised released and quit-claimed unto the said Nelson Bacon his heirs and assigned all our right and interest in and to a certain parcel of land situate in said Brandon and described as follows. Commencing at the corner of lands owned by John B. L'heureuxon the east side of Union Street 8 rods Thence easterly on the line of lands owned by Elias M. ________ 10 rods. Thence northerly a line parallel with said Union Street 8 rods to said L'heureux Thence westerly on the line of said L'heureuex to place of beginning. Being same ___________ conveyed to me by said Nelson Bacon by Deed dated January 27, 1876 and recorded in Brandon Land Records Vol. 35 Page 90.
To have and to hold the above ______ cleared and quit-claimed for------ with the appurtenances thereof unto him the said Nelson Bacon his heirs and assigns to them and their own proper use benefit and behoof forever so that neither me the said Charles or Mary or our heirs or assigns shall ever have any right title challenge or demand by virtue of any act or acts or to be had done or suffered.

L'heureuex and Margaret L'heureuex his wife of Brandon in the County of Rutland and State of Vermont do give grant bargain sell and confirm unto the said John B. and Margaret their heirs and assigns a certain parcel of land lying and being in Brandon in the County of Rutland and State of Vermont and described as follows.
Bounded on the north or northerly by lands of the said John B.L'heureuex, On the easterly and southerly sides by lands of Charles M.Winslow and on the west by the highway leading from Brandon Village to the Lincoln Bridge so called, Being our place now occupied by us and the front place so called and conveyed to Chas Bacon and reconveyed by deed dated April 8, 1878, and being all the land we own in the town of Brandon, This deed is nevertheless given and accepted upon the________ condition that the said John B. L'heureuex and MargaretL'heuerex and the survivor of them shall give to us and the survivor of us a comfortable and respectable support in sickness and in health said support to be in the house of the said L'heureuexs and they shall at all times treat us with kindness and attention. and in case they shall fail to give us said support and shall in any way treat us in any way other than as dutiful children should treat aged parents the above deed shall be null and void otherwise of full force and ______.said support to be through the rest of our natural lives.
To have and to hold the above granted and bargained forever with the appurtenances thereof unto the said John B. and Margaret L'heureuex their heirs and assigns to them and their own proper use benefit and behoof forever. And also we the said Nelson Bacon and Emma Bacon do for ourselves and our heirs executors and administrators covenant with the said John B. L'heureuex their heirs and assigns that at and until the ensealing of these presents we are well seized in fee of the afore granted premises and have good right to bargain and sell the same in manner and form as above written and that the same are free from all incumbrances whatsoever. and furthermore we the said Nelson and Emma do by these presents bind ourselves our heirs forever to warrant and defend the above granted premises to the said John B. and Margaret their heirs and assigns against all lawful claim and demand whatsoever. Excepting a mortgage to Isaac Dow for $373.00 which the said John B. L'heuereuex and Margaret assume as a part of said consideration and if they fail to pay the same the afore deed shall be null and void.
