McDOWELL-Samuel McDowell was born in Jefferson County, O., December 10, 1799, and died January 8, 1882, aged 82 years and 29 days.

He came to this county at an early age, and has since resided here. He united with the Methodist Church in Troy about sixty years ago, and has lived an earnest, Christian life.
