Maria's parents shown as Alexander Volkert and Anna Marie Shaefer. Johan Jacob's father as George Michael Volkert and mother Cornelia Vohr. There are full family group sheets for Johann Jacob Volkert and George Michael Volkert. Source of information is from Richard Folkerth based on information from a distant cousin, Egbert Risch, in Germany. Bob has Martin's marriage as 1825 in Maryland.

1860 Piqua, Newberry Twp., Miami Co., OH. In this census, there were two children in the household, Susan, 11 born OH, and Abraham, 9 born OH. Most likely these are grandchildren, possibly Jacob's as he was married in 1848. However, Martin's probate lists a daughter Susannah. Lydia would, though, have been 49 and 51 at birth of these two children. Possible, but not probable.
At the time of his death, Martin owned the following real estate in Newberry Township, Miami County, OH: The East Half of the NorthWest Quarter of Section Thirty four (34) Township Ten (10) of Range Four (4) East in the Cincinnati District containing ninety acres more or less. The land was appraised at $4,200. It appears that the estate was not probated until after Lydia died. Application for Letters of Administration list heirs as: Jacob Fulker, son, Greenville, Ohio; David Fulker, son, Versailles, Ohio; Jonathan Fulker, son, Bloomertown, Ohio; Susannah Weaver, daughter, Webster Ohio; Margaret McDowell, daughter, SearsBorough, Iowa; Sophia Fulker, daughter, Bloomertown, Ohio; Jacob Ballinger, Grand Son, Oepland (?) Ind.; Jesse Ballinger, Grand Son, Webster, Ohio; Reuben Ballinger, Grand Son, Bloomertown, Ohio; Isaac Ballinger, Grand Son, Bloomertown, Ohio; Ellen Ballinger Spaulding, Grand Daughter, Bloomertown, Ohio.
