There is a strong possibility that Peter is a brother to Martin, or at least related in some way, based on the birth places of both and of their wives, and the same names in both families.
Application to admit will to probate in Miami County, OH, gives death date and says that he died leaving the following named persons and next of kin. The words "his widow" before "and next of kin" is crossed out. This would indicate that Lydia died between the 1880 census and Peter's death. Lists children Henry, Samuel, Catharine and Lydia, giving relationship, the daughters' married surnames and their current addresses. Probate No. 9740, Record # 4-299. This is the only page of the probate I copied.
