"Sieghardt H. "Slick" Deines, 73, died Sunday, April 15, 1984, atDoctors Hospital in Shreveport, La., afer a long illness.
He was born in Russell, Kansas, to Jacob and Katherine Mai Deines andmoved to WaKeeney as a child. A retired core driller, he was a memberof the International Union of Operating Engineers Local No. 12,Pasadena, Calif.; he was a Lutheran.
"Slick" had resided with his sister-in-law and her husbnad, Mr. andMrs. Clyde Jack Wilkerson in Shreveport for the past four years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jacob and Katherine Deines, abrother, Herbert, and his wife Lucille. He is survived by foursisters: Helen Dietz and Marie Koleber of Greeley, Colo.; Martha Maiof Sharon Springs, Ks.; and Mollie Berschauer of WaKeeney, Ks.; ahalf-sister, Elfreida Graham of Seattle, Washington; two brothers,Emanuel Deines of Olympia, Washington and Paul Deines of Port Angeles,Washington; a half brother, Daniel Deines of Olympia, Washington, andmany nieces and nephews.
Graveside services were held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 17 at ForestPark West Cemetery under the directionn of Rose-Neath's SouthsideChapel with Rev. Jim Moore officiating."
