WaKeeney -- Anna Amalia "Mollie" Berschauer, 91, WaKeeney, diedSunday, Sept. 17, 2000, at Trego-Lemke Memorial Hospital Long TermCare, WaKeeney.
Mrs. Berschauer was born Anna Amalia Deines on Feb. 28, 1909, inRussell County. She was a housekeeper at various offices in WaKeeneyand a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church and Lydia Circle, both ofWaKeeney.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William "Bill," in 1970; anda great-grandson.
Survivors include a son, William "Bill" Dean of Albert; two daughters,Norma Lee Cunningham of WaKeeney and Merna Ellertson of Assaria; twosisters, Martha Mai of Sharon Springs and Marie Koleber of Loveland,Colo., a half sister, Elfrieda Graham of Kirkland, Wash.; 12grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandson.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Bethlehem Lutheran Church,WaKeeney, Pastor Randy Gibbs officiating. Burial will be in WaKeeneyCity Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the church or Trego-Lemke Memorial HospitalLong Term Care Unit.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Schmitt Funeral Home,336 N. 12th, WaKeeney 67672.

"Anna Amalia "Mollie" Berschauer was born February 28, 1909, on thefamily farm in Russell Co., Kansas, to Jacob George and Katarina (Mai)Deines. She passed away in the Trego Lemke Memorial Hospital Long TermCare Unit at WaKeeney, Kansas, on September 17, 2000, at the age of 91years, 6 months, 19 days.
She moved with her family to Trego County, Kansas, in 1914. Mollieattended rural Trego County schools.
On June 18, 1933, Mollie was united in marriage with William "Bill"Berschauer in Zion Lutheran Church, rural WaKeeney. He passed awaySeptember 2, 1970.
Mollie was a homemaker and worked as a housekeeper for various officesand thehospital at WaKeeney. She also kept house for Dr. and Mrs. Bicefor 17 years. Mollie was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church and apast member of the Lydia Circle of the church, all of WaKeeney.
In her retirement years Mollie spent many hours tending her flowersand helping Bill and Norma with their vegetable garden. She was alsoan excellent seamstress and crocheted many afghans for family andfriends. Her favorite times were spent gathering with her family forSunday dinners, and assisting with the baking for Long Term Care fundraisers.
Survivors include one son, William "Bill" Dean Berschauer and wife,Lila Lee, of Albert; two daughters, Norma Lee Cunningham and husband,Bill, of WaKeeney, and Merna Ellertson and husband, David, of Assaria;12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild;two sisters, Martha Mai of Sharon Springs and Marie Koleber ofLoveland, CO; a half-sister, Elfrieda Graham of Kirkland, WA; and asister-in-law, Marjorie Deines of Port Angeles, WA.
She was preceded in death by a great-grandson, Jeffrey Alan Cunninghamon Apriil 1, 1988; five brothers, Emanuel, Paul, Sieghardt, Herbertand infant, Alfred Milton Deines; a half-brother, Daniel Deines; threesisters, Helen Dietz, and infants Eleanora Wilmetta and AnitaMagdalene Deines.
Mollie will be lovingly remembered by her family and friends for manyyears to come."
