The obituary reads: Jordan, Anna, born in Frederick Co., Md.,April 8, 1787, nee Hall. Married to Michael Folkerth in 1802, had 5 children , 4 of whom were born in Maryland. one in Preble Co. Ohio. Emigrated to Ohio in 1817, moved to Montgomery Co. in 1832 an settled on the farm where she now resides with her son Ebenezer. Michael, her first husband died in Montgomery Co. Mar 5, 1843. She was a Dunkard. She married John Jordan in the fall of 1847, he was also a Dunkard, and died in Jan 1867. Two of her children, Mary the eldest and John, the youngest are dead. Three living are Christopher in Yellow Springs, Ohio, Ebenezer on the homestead and Margaret of near New Lebanon. Anna was a Quaker by birth but joined the German Baptist Church when she was 21. When in Preble Co., lived on Big Twin. One evening her son Christopher was coming back from the mill with a sack when he suddenly discovered something riding hehind him 'hugging him' closely. it was a full grown wild-cat, but by persistent efforts, he caused the cat to vacate his seat.
