Opal and Will homesteaded "up the country from Ennis which was at that time called Lyon" according to the bio. After Will died around 1920, Opal moved to Porterville, California, and then married George Brown, who had been married to her sister, Violet.

Obituary in Porterville Recorder Wed., Jul. 29, 1964: "Graveside funeral services were held Monday afternoon in Home of Peace cemetery for Mrs. Opal M. Brown, 81, who died in a local convalescent home last Friday. Rev. Clifford Ford of the First Methodist church officiated.
Mrs. Brown, a native of Searsboro, Ia, had lived in Porterville for the past 41 years. Her home was at 506 South B Street.
She is survived by a step-son, Carl Brown; a step-daughter, Mrs. Everett Duncan, a sister, Mrs. Alma Morrison, all of Porterville; a brother, Walter Vincent of Montana; four grand-children and two great-grandchildren.
