Obituary obtained from Bessie Brown does not have a date, but is from Porterville Recorder. "Former Resident Dies Suddenly In Compton: Vincent Simon, 43, passed away suddenly Monday morning at a hospital in Compton. A native of Montana, Mr. Simon was a former resident of Porterville having lived here for 35 years, prior to moving to Compton where he had lived the past two years.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Edythe Simon of Compton; a daughter, Mrs. Loretta Chavez, and three sons, William, Lee and James Simon all of Compton, his mother, Mrs. Opal Brown of Porterville; a sister, Mrs. Bessie Duncan, and a step-brother, Carl Brown, both of Porterville. Funeral services and interment were held Thursday in Compton." According to the Tulare Co. USGENWEB page for obituary index, it appeared on April 3, 1959 in the Porterville Evening Recorder.
